Exams are a good way of measuring students' knowledge
A topic that has been mentioned a lot of times is if exams are a good way of measuring knowledge, and we have to give an answer to this question because it is very important. My view is that exams are usually a good way of measuring the students' knowledge.
Firstly, students have to study the whole lesson because they do not know what the teacher will ask. That means that students can not let a part of the lesson without studying it because maybe the teacher asks this part and gives a high puntuation to that question.
Secondly, if students did not have exams, they would never study the lesson because the teacher would not know if they had studied or not. They would not study anything in all the course if they were never evaluated.
On the other hand, it is also true that many students study for the exams the night before. However, it is better studying the night before than never! Even though students forget a lot of content after the exam if they study the night before, they can remember the most important things.
All things considered, I believe that exams are not a perfect way of measuring our knowledge, but it is the better way that we have found. We do not know any other easy and perfect way of measuring students' knowledge.
